September came and went just like many before it. Yet September 2015 was not the typical month. There was something in the air that seemed tangible. Many people felt it - not only me. But it made sense because of all the hype surrounding September 2015. Hmmm, lets see, first there was the alleged ending of the mystery cloaked Jade Helm on 09/15/15. Then there was the anniversary of 09/11 (God help us never forget that date.) Then there was the Blood Moon bandwagon coupled with the visit of the Pope Franny and Net....Netin....Netinyahoo (spelling?) and even Vlad Putin if I am not mistaken.
Such a perfect storm of events was bound to bring some GIANT event to transform humanity. After all, many of these events were benchmark events - historical.
Yet nothing happened.
And for those of us who eagerly anticipate the coming of our Lord Jesus, it was a disappointment to see nothing come from this perfect storm of events. Some secretly anticipated a rapture, others wished for it. But most wanted to witness something - ANYTHING - that would log this generation into a eschatological timeframe thus giving encouragement to many who remain discouraged in a crazy world.
But nothing happened and the blues set in. Hand that platter to someone already dealing with depression and the aftermath is not pretty.
I decided to put this topic in the personal testimony area because it is a personal testimony - I am giving testimony of my own disappointment and October blues.
Isnt hindsight 20-20? If so, we must analyze September and make some decision, lest we repeat any errors we may have made. Casting stones at Blitz and Hagee and Cahn over the Blood Moon bandwagon isn't the answer. Just because nothing happened does not mean that the red blood moons were insignificant. On the contrary. The same with the Pope's visit, the Israeli PM visit and Putin's visit. All of these things are significant in themselves. Toss in the Jade Helm scare and we may find that even if the conglomeration didn't bring on a BIG event, they were at the least EVENTS in themselves.
In a 'normal' world, we can all use encouragement. In an anticlimactic October, we all certainly NEED encouragement. I would like to thank those around me that do just that.
